My fellow boutique photographer friends and I started an initiative nationwide. We call it "#giftcardmonday" and its purpose is to support our favorite small businesses locally by buying gift cards from those businesses. Additionally, we are highlighting a certain business each week and spreading the word about what fantastic products and services they provide to our communities.
Every Monday, while we are sheltering in place, each of us will go online and encourage y’all to support the small businesses you love! You can easily do this by purchasing a gift card from them to keep or give to a favorite person or even medical staff -- the real front-line heroes of this coronavirus.
If you can purchase a gift card great! If you are suffering yourself, your help sharing on social media is just as important. Getting the word out about your favorite local small businesses is a good way to support them during this difficult time. Be sure to promote that business on your social media with #giftcardmonday
We want to begin each week helping someone else and small businesses need us now more than ever!
